LIBRARY REPORT (2016-17)
Workshops attended:
Mr. Ch.Veeranjaneyulu, Librarian attended a workshop conducted by DELNET on ‘Services and Sources of DELNET’ at Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswavidyalayam, Tirupati in on 25th June, 2016.
Publications:
Mr. Ch.Veeranjaneyulu, Librarian Presented a paper on “NPTEL: Boon for Engineering Education” at DRDO sponsored National Conference on ‘Creativity, Innovation and Transformation in libraries’ conducted by K.S.Rangasamy College of Engineering in Tiruchengudi, Tamilnadu in association with SALIS during 8th -9th July, 2016.
Programmes organised:
Mr. Ch.Veeranjaneyulu, as president of ‘Geethanjali Telugu Sabha’ conducted ‘Telugu Language day’ in our colleges on 14th Sept, 2016 on the occasion of Telugu language day by inviting ‘Dwisahasra Sabhasimha’ B.V.Narasimham a Telugu poet and scholar as chief guest and conducted various competitions for students on this occasion for the promotion and awareness about Telugu language in the present generations and prizes were distributed to the winners.
Mr. Ch.Veeranjaneyulu, took part in the formation of SALIS Nellore chapter and organized it’s inaugural meeting at V.R.College Nellore.
Positions held:
Mr. Ch.Veeranjaneyulu has been elected as General Secretary for SALIS Nellore Chapter (Society for the Advancement of Library and Information Science) on 17th Dec, 2016
Seminars Conducted:
Mr. Ch.Veeranjaneyulu, Librarian organized State level One day seminar on “Recent Trends in Library and Information Science” at V.R.College Nellore, in association with SALIS Nellore Chapter on 17th Dec, 2016.
Seminars attended:
Mr. N.S. Kumar, Asst.Librarian has participated in One day State Level Seminar organized by V.R.College, Nellore in association with SALIS Nellore Chapter on 17th Dec, 2016.
Library Automation:
Our College Central Library has been automated by installing Library automation software designed and developed by AutoLib Software Systems, Chennai. All the transactions (Circulations) have been carried with the help of barcode scanners and search facility about library materials is provided to all the departments through LAN in our college.
Doctoral awards:
Sri Venkateswara University Tirupati declared Doctoral Degree to our college Librarian Mr. Ch.Veeranjaneyulu on 23rd Jan,2017 for his research thesis entitled ‘Utilization of Information Sources with Special Reference to Journals by the Faculty Members of Engineering Colleges: A Study in Nellore District, A.P.” submitted to the university under the guidance of Prof. K.Padmini, Chairperson BOS, department of Library and Information Science, S.V.University.
General activities:
Mr. Ch.Veeranjaneyulu Librarian has conducted library orientation classes to 1st year students in our college on the availability of sources and services in the library and how to use them in a proper way for the benefit of their academic and overall development.
